Our bed and breakfast

Situated in a peaceful location, our house is within a pleasant ten minute walk of Limoux town centre.

A charming little B and B just outside the town, with characterful rooms, hammocks next to the pool and set in lush surroundings
The Rough Guide

(No hammocks this year but some comfortable French day beds and an Indonesian 'chaise longue' in their place).)

Tarifs: seventy-five euros per night per couple, sixty for single occupancy.

"'The Hothouse is a quite extraordinary place... hosts, Kate and Mark are as delightful a pair as you can imagine-friendly, curious, funny, artistic..always ready to talk but always busy with an exciting project too. The place is a heaven on earth, without any of the chichi, the garden full of colour, excitement and profusion - paintings and music surround you. K&M are masters of the art of cooking with the seasons, and Mark's cakes are out of this world!

Our house - your house

Our B and B is situated in a quiet road surrounded by gardens with south-facing views of hills and vineyards.
The house is set in attractive gardens with a good-sized swimming pool, large terrace and various areas for relaxing, reading, tea/wine-drinking etc . . .

Please note: this is a quirky, characterful, environmentally-aware, artists' house and our facilities are not those of a several star hotel - our emphasis being on making you feel most welcome in comfortable surroundings and providing yummy breakfasts! If you are after trouser presses, state-of-the-art bathroom and 'bleached' everything we may not be the 'logement' for you . . .

Nice reviews on Trip advisor — link to their site to the right, (and our other blogs).

Our cosy lounge with wood-burner for winter months. Curl up with a book, or join us to watch a film

Lodgings.

The Hothouse is a real 'chambre d'hôte' in that we only have one 'guest' room.
It is a comfortable  double-bedded (queen size) room with garden view and direct access though the  French windows.
A childs futon can be added to the room if required.

We also have slightly more... rustic accommodation (no bathroom or loo - access main house for the 'facilities') in my writer/artist studio. Sleeps one, two or three (double futon and day bed)

Summer relaxation and winter sports.

Limoux has a mostly mediterranean climate, dry hot summers, and fairly mild winters with the odd very cold snap. Lots of sunshine!

mid-summer vines and pyrenean foothills, near Limoux

And, when it does get cold, (snow in Limoux is fairly exceptional) the town is well situated as a base for skiing, the nearest ski station being just an hour away. The view here is taken from one of our favourite walks up on the hills above the house.
